Although Inter’s financial situation is improving, the Nerazzurri may still need to sell one of their key players to balance accounts in the summer.
According to the newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Serie A giants have to cut costs by another 15 percent during the summer transfer window and make a capital gain of around 70 million euros. Therefore, the sale of one of their stars is on the horizon.
The Italian newspaper reported in early May that the Serie A giants would try to get the money they needed by removing some of their stars, but that may not be enough to achieve their financial goal. Therefore, they may be forced to sell one of their stars at the end of the season.
Both Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport believe that Lautaro Martinez is not in the market and Inter are not ready to listen to offers for El Toro. Lautaro also wants to stay at the Stadio Meazza as his partner Agustina Gandolfo will soon open a restaurant in Milan.
Alessandro Bastoni, on the other hand, has attracted interest from Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City and the Nerazzurri could fight to resist offers from the Etihad Stadium.
Il Corriere dello Sport confirms that the Italian is one of the Inter stars that can be sacrificed during the summer.
One of them, Nicolo Barella, Milan Skriniar and Denzel Dumfries will leave if the Nerazzurri receive a suitable offer.
Inter sold Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku for a combined fee of 183 million euros last summer, forcing Antonio Conte to leave the club.
On the other hand, Simone Inzaghi is aware of Inter’s plans and will extend his contract at the end of the season despite the possible sale of one of his stars.
