Ralf Rangnick has been named Austria’s new coach.
The current interim coach of Manchester United will lead the Austrians until 2024.
However, he will not leave the “Red Devils”, where he will take another position at the club, reports the Italian sports journalist Fabrizio Romano.
“I will take over the Austrian national team at the end of this season, but I will continue to be a consultant at Manchester United. “I can’t wait to help United become a real force again,” said the German coach, who is not doing well as coach at Old Trafford as Cristiano Ronaldo and his team-mates will be out of the Champions League for next season.
The news was also confirmed by the English giant through the official account on social networks.
“Rangnick has signed a two-year contract with Austria. “He will combine work with his role as an adviser at Old Trafford as planned, as Erik ten Hag was made official as the new United manager last week,” Manchester United announced.
Rangnick meanwhile aims to qualify Austria for Euro 2024.
