The Manchester United coach has spoken before the first match of the Champions League that will take place tomorrow.
Interim Manchester United coach Ralph Rangnick has had positive words for his counterpart, Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone before the 1/8 final match in the Champions League that takes place between the two teams on Wednesday.
The German has spoken of the Argentine coach saying that the Athlete was transformed during his leadership by turning into a team that everyone fears.
“In these 11 years he has won trophies with a clear identity and a well-known style of play and I do not think he has changed in recent years. There is always an emotional team that is also reflected in the character of the manager – Diego Simeone is probably one of the most emotional managers in Europe,” Rangnick told reporters on Tuesday.
“The style and the way his team performs reflects these emotions that he tries to send to the team and that is what they need. We have to adapt to the level of energy and emotions in both games, which we have to be careful about. I will try to prepare our squad, my squad, exactly for this kind of challenge. It will be a physical and emotional match. We have to be mentally strong, especially when we play outside.”
“We have not played against each other yet but I have always adored what he has achieved. For 11 years with Atletico, I think he has completely changed the club making it one of the most respected clubs in Europe. As I said, now I will look forward to the next two games.”
