Brazilian legend Pele has been released from hospital after treatment for a tumor and a urinary tract infection.
The three-time World Cup winner, was admitted to Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo on February 13 for treatment on colon cancer.
Eight days after he was hospitalized, doctors discovered a urinary tract infection, which prolonged his stay.
However, the hospital said Pele was now in a stable clinical condition.
He will continue treatment for the tumor which was first detected in routine tests in September.
Pele underwent prostate surgery in 2015 after being hospitalized for the second time in six months, and returned again for a urinary tract infection in 2019.
Brazil’s all-time leading goalscorer with 77 goals in 92 games, the former striker is one of only four players to have scored in four World Cup tournaments.
