According to numerous reports in Italy, PSG star Leo Messi was surprised by Lazio star Luca Romero and even advised the Ligue 1 giants to sign the 17-year-old.
Romero joined Argentina’s international squad in March, when he had the opportunity to show his value to coach Lionel Scaloni and veterans Angel Di Maria and Messi.
The promising and versatile attacking winger will turn 18 in November and has already attracted many admirers, including his most prominent compatriot.
Numerous reports in Italy emphasize that Messi was surprised by the qualities of the Argentine winger, who has a contract with the Biancocelestes until 2023.
The newspaper Il Corriere dello Sport reports that Messi even told PSG directors to consider a move for his compatriot over the summer. However, Lazio will offer Romero a five-year contract extension in November, once he turns 18.
Lazio and Maurizio Sarri are pleased with the player’s development, although Romero has only played four Serie A games this season, making his August debut in a 6-1 home win over Salernitana.
