Marcos Alonso is the player Barcelona have chosen to become their new left-back, although agreeing the amount with Chelsea could be difficult.
The Catalan club believes they already have a deal with the Spanish defender, although nothing has been signed yet.
Xavi’s team is able to offer him the terms of the contract he wants as he wants to leave Chelsea and return to Spain.
As is the case with Cesar Azpilicuetana, with whom Barcelona want to strengthen the right wing, they have to agree a sum with Chelsea as Alonso has one year left on his contract.
However, this could be difficult as the new Chelsea owners may not make it easy for the players to leave and the value of the 31-year-old at Transfermarkt is currently €15 million.
Barcelona does not want to pay such a high amount. Until their players leave, the Catalan club is not sure of their spending power.
