Roberto Mancini has removed three other players from his Italian squad for the League of Nations matches, sending Manuel Lazzari, Mattia Zaccagni and Salvatore Sirigu home.
The Azzurri are starting a whole new era after last night’s 3-0 defeat of Finalissima to Argentina at Wembley Stadium.
Italy now face four Nations League matches in less than two weeks, hosting Germany on Saturday 4 June, then Hungary on Tuesday 7 June, visiting England on Saturday 11 June and Germany on Tuesday 14 June .
Mancini has already released Federico Bernardeschi, Giorgio Chiellini, Emerson Palmieri, Lorenzo Insigne, Jorginho and Marco Verratti today, although Insigne and Verratti still lost last night’s match with Argentina due to injury.
Now the team has been further cut with the Lazio duo, Lazzar and Zaccagni sent home, as well as Genoa goalkeeper Sirigu.
