French newspaper L’Equipe is convinced that Milan will take the duo Renato Sanches and Sven Botman from Lille, despite Newcastle United offering more for the defender.
The Red and Blacks seem to have no more competition when it comes to Portuguese midfielder Sanches, who is expected to be transferred for around 18 million euros.
Negotiations are also ongoing between Milan and Lille for Botman center-back and the situation here is less clear.
English sources and Sky Sport Italia all confirm that Newcastle United is ready to offer up to 40 million euros for the Dutch defender.
However, L’Equipe and Tuttomercatoweb continue to insist that Botman would prefer to join Milan and favor the transfer to the Serie A champions.
This is partly because they are in the Champions League, but also he considers them more ambitious and prestigious than the team from the Premier League.
After all, Milan will not reach 40 million euros for Botman and can instead go for Gleison Bremer from Turin for 25 million euros, although he seems to be closer to Inter.
It will depend on whether Lille is prepared to accept a lower transfer fee or whether Botman gives up his dream in Milan and accepts Newcastle.
