Juventus enters the race for Rudiger, but his salary request remains a problem

Chelsea seem incapable of offering Antonio Rudiger a new contract as he wants and Juventus are said to be ready to enter the race to face Real Madrid, Manchester United and Newcastle.

The German national team player is not unknown for Serie A, as he has already played for Roma before transferring to “Stamford Bridge”.

His contract is expiring on June 30 and he did not seem prepared to sign a new extension.

This now seems completely impossible, as Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has his assets frozen in the UK as part of sanctions against Russian oligarchs, so the club cannot negotiate any new contracts.

Therefore, Rudiger will be available as a free agent and has a list of interested clubs, including Juventus, Manchester United and Newcastle.

According to Calciomercato.com, Rudiger is looking to double his current salary, which is 5 million euros per season.

Juventus is trying to lower the average salary bill and has postponed their meeting again to discuss Paulo Dybala’s new deal.

He had originally agreed 10 million euros per season plus bonuses, but the Bianconeri are now trying to negotiate a lower figure.
