Liverpool legend John Barnes has said that Marcus Rashford would be “fit” for the Reds’ attack if he decides to make an ‘impossible’ move to Manchester United’s bitter rivals.
The 24-year-old English striker has a contract that expires after a little over a year and, although the club has the option of extending his contract for another season, speculation about his future move is growing.
Rashford has scored five goals this season after losing the first two months after recovering from shoulder surgery and his form has been volatile.
He has often been used as a replacement by interim manager Ralf Rangnick and started on the bench for United’s last three Premier League games.
With Rashford’s future at Old Trafford appearing increasingly precarious, Barnes admits the Englishman would be a welcome addition to coach Jurgen Klopp’s attacking front line.
However, the former Three Lions winger stressed that he could not see the transfer happening and noted that the Reds already have a lot of great talent in attack.
