Gareth Bale has announced that he will leave Real Madrid after the successful experience he had at the “Santiago Bernabeu”.
The Welsh star’s contract expires this summer and the parties have not expressed interest in continuing the cooperation.
And, after spending nine years in Madrid, the former Tottenham player has said goodbye.
“I wrote this message to say thank you to all my teammates, present and past, my coaches, staff and fans who have supported me. “I arrived here 9 years ago as a young man, who wanted to realize his dream of playing for Real Madrid”, the 32-year-old initially wrote on Twitter.
“To wear this shirt and play at the Santiago Bernabeu, to win titles and be part of this team that won the Champions League. Now I can look back, reflect and proudly say that this dream came true and much more. Together we were able to create moments that will always live on in the history of this club and of football. It has been an honor for me. Thank you! ” continued the Welsh star.
Bale has scored 106 goals in 258 appearances for “Los Blancos”, who was joined by Tottenham in 2013 for nearly 100 million euros.
He has been plagued by injuries and declines in recent years, but has generally had a successful experience in Madrid, forming a formidable trio with Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, known as the BBC.
