Milan has opened preliminary talks with Real Madrid for Marco Asensio and the Italian and Spanish media reveal how much the Spaniard would cost the red and blacks.
Asensio sees that his contract expires in June 2023 and almost every Italian media confirms the talks between his representatives and the red and blacks. Asensio’s agents confirmed the interest of Milan and Arsenal this week.
According to Calciomercato.com, Sportmediaset and AS.com, Milan can afford their current salary of 5 million euros a year thanks to the ‘growth decree’ that would allow them to save 50 percent on the player’s gross salary.
However, the newspaper Tuttosport claims that the player will ask for more money, maybe around 7 million euros per season and it remains to be seen if the red and blacks will afford so much.
Talks between the two sides are ongoing and Paolo Maldini can count on his excellent relationship with the directors of Real Madrid.
According to the report, Los Blancos estimate Asensio around 25-30 million euros, but the red and blacks are negotiating a lower fee since the player’s contract expires in the summer of 2023.
Sportmediaset claims that Real Madrid has offered Asensio a new contract, but the player will not make a decision on his future before the end of the season.
