Ancelotti: It was a tough match, but Real never give up

Carlo Ancelotti has commented on the crazy match that took place last night between Real Madrid and Chelsea.

In the end the winner was the current European champion, but it was Madrid who celebrated thanks to the 3: 1 victory on the trip, while at home they lost, 2: 3.

The Italian coach feels proud of his team, which never gave up and finally cut a ticket to the semifinals of the Champions League.

“We knew it would be difficult, but not as much as it turned out to be. We went to 0: 2 without merit, as I think in the first half we played well, not risking too much. At one point we were at 0: 2 and then the qualification was in doubt. It was sacrifice on the part of everyone. “Real’s spirit is this: we never give up and for that we got this big prize, which is the semi-final,” Ancelotti told Infinity.

It was a match decided by the shifts made by the Italian and by the actions of the stars.

“When the match became a draw, the environment helped us. The goal for 1: 3 was a psychological blow forward, then we built the victory, respectively the qualification. “It is true that Real Madrid is used to the semi-finals of the Champions League, we are very proud of this achievement”, he underlined.

He feels good that Villarreal also went ahead, while Atletico Madrid has such an opportunity tonight, if they beat Manchester City with two or more goals advantage.

According to the Italian coach, Spanish football is showing everyone that it is superior, even though everyone says that English football is superior to Spanish.
