Weston McKennie will miss the rest of the season at Juventus as he continues to recover from a broken leg.
Old Lady coach Massimiliano Allegri confirmed the news after his side beat Spezia 1-0 on Sunday night.
“The season is over for Weston due to his injury. “He will be back next season,” the Tuscan strategist told DAZN.
McKennie, who will also miss the three crucial World Cup qualifiers in America’s three finals, was injured during Juve’s 1-1 draw in the first leg of the 16th round of the Champions League with Villarreal this past month.
On February 24, Juventus issued the statement: “Weston McKennie underwent further medical tests, which confirmed the presence of a composite fracture of the second and third metatarsal bones of his left leg.”
“The initial recovery time is expected to be approximately eight weeks.”
McKennie, who has a contract until 2025, appeared 28 times for the club this season, scoring four goals.
