Salah confirms his stay at Liverpool for at least another year

Mohamed Salah has confirmed that he will stay at Liverpool for the 2022/23 season.

The Egyptian has only 12 months left in his current contract and has yet to sign a contract extension, causing fears he could be sold this summer.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have been interested in the player, who has insisted that money is not the only thing that should be discussed in his negotiations for the new contract.

Asked if winning the Champions League against Real Madrid on Saturday would help convince him to stay, he said he does not consider the contract at present.

“In my mind, the focus is not on the contract at the moment. I do not want to be selfish. I even said a few months ago that it is about the team, it is an important week for us. I am focused only on the team. I want the Champions League again, I want to see Hendon [Jordan Henderson] again with the trophy in his hands.”

“I am focused only on the team, I do not want to talk about the contract now. We have a long time. I will stay next season, of course. This is clear. I will stay next season. “Let’s look after that,” said Salah.
