Juventus puts Bernardeschi up for sale

Federico Bernardeschi will leave Juventus at the end of the season when his contract expires, sources for Football Italia have confirmed.

The Italian winger had hoped to extend his contract with the Coppa Italia finalists, but was told he is not part of the project and will become a free agent from 30 June.

A source told Football Italia that, after lengthy discussions, the player and the club reached mutual agreement that it was better to go their separate ways.

Bernardeschi was a target for a host of clubs in Europe when he exploded on stage in Fiorentina and was handed the prestigious jersey no. 10 worn by Roberto Baggio.

However, in 2017 he chose to transfer to Juve in a €40 million deal and won a Serie A title and the Italian Cup.

Bernardeschi went on to win two more league titles and more Coppa Italia while also being a member of Italy’s triumphant team at Euro 2020.

In total, he has made 182 appearances for the Bianconeri, scoring 12 goals.
