Juventus have told striker Alvaro Morata that they will not eventually buy him from Atletico Madrid, according to reports in Spain.
The former Real Madrid and Chelsea striker has been at Juventus for two seasons in his second period with the club and the Old Lady have the option to make the permanent deal for 35 million euros.
However, Marca reports that Juventus has decided not to pay the required amount.
Morata has been linked with a move to Barcelona, ??but recent reports in Spain suggest he remains a back-up option if the Catalan team fails to transfer striker Robert Lewandowski.
The Spanish international’s first season with Juventus was from 2014 to 2016, when he helped the Bianconeri in the League and Double Cup. He also scored in the loss in the 2015 Champions League final against Barcelona.
He returned to Real Madrid after they practiced a return clause and was part of the squad that beat Juventus in the 2017 Champions League final.
After periods at Chelsea and Atletico, he returned to Juve on loan where he won another Italian Cup.
