Chiellini confirms leaving Juventus after 17 years

Giorgio Chellini is spending the last weeks of his experience at Juventus.

The Italian footballer has announced that at the end of this season he will leave the “Old Lady”.

The defense veteran actually says goodbye to the club from Turin after 17 years there.

The news has been confirmed by the Italian club itself after the loss in the final of the Italian Cup by Inter.

The 37-year-old feels honored and proud to have been given the opportunity to play for the Italian giant.

“I pass my position to many young people. Next year I will not be here anymore, on Monday I will greet my stadium and the match with Fiorentina will be the last for me. “I say goodbye with great joy to this team, which will have the biggest fan of mine, because Juve stays inside”, declared the former Italian representative, who had an extraordinary experience with “Bianconeri”.

Chiellini has been the backbone of Juve’s defense since 2004, initially playing on the left wing, and in recent years has shown stability in the center of defense as well.

Chiellini could continue his career in the United States after receiving offers from MLS league clubs.

“I do not know, I have to think about the future in consultation with the family. I am happy to be leaving at high levels because I said years ago that I did not want to leave lame and not being able to play at my levels. “I gave everything of myself,” concluded Chiellini.

He is an example of how a player should leave his soul on the field.
