Salah is named England Player of the Year, journalists voted

Mohamed Salah has been named England Player of the Year.

The Liverpool star received this award from journalists, who rewarded him for his extraordinary form.

The Egyptian footballer received 48 percent of the vote from the Football Writers Association, leaving behind Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne and West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice.

Salah has scored 30 goals and provided 14 assists in 44 games so far this season with the Reds, who are in contention for four trophies.

The 29-year-old won this precious journalism trophy for the second time in his career.

The players from the two main candidates for the Premier League title, Liverpool and Manchester City, dominated the voting, with nine players of manager Jurgen Klopp and six of Pep Guardiola.

In the women’s competition, Chelsea’s Australian Sam Kerr was voted the best of the year in England.

She scored 18 goals and helped the “Blues” to be at the top of the Women’s Super League, receiving 40 percent of the vote.

In second place was the Dutch representative of Arsenal, striker Vivianne Miedema, while third was the Manchester City footballer, Lauren Hemp.
