Simeone is proud of the team, explains everything about Guardiola

Diego Pablo Simeone feels proud of his team despite being eliminated from the Champions League.

Atletico Madrid drew 0-0 at home to Manchester City in the return leg of the quarter-finals, having lost their first game in England, 0-1.

However, the Argentine coach congratulated the players for the game they played and thanked the public for the extraordinary support they gave to the team at the “Wanda Metropolitano” stadium.

“This match serves for our honor and pride, for the pride of our people who have seen a fighting team. It gives us peace of mind given that the team gave everything to pass this stage”, Simeone initially declared.

“The audience was fantastic throughout the match and the team responded well, trying to do what is difficult to see in stadiums. “As for Felipe’ red card, I did not understand what happened, I was very far away, but the referee told me that he kicked one of their players, I did not see him”, he underlined.

“As for wasting time, there is not much to talk about, it is the judge who manages these situations. I compliment City on the big game they played and deny the fact that I applauded Guardiola for the fact that his team was wasting time. I did it because I appreciated the effort they were making on the field. We feel bad that we came out like this, but I am proud of who we are and how we played,” concluded Simeone.
