Inter no longer rules out Lukaku’s return

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter directors no longer rule out the return of Romelu Lukaku during the summer, with the Chelsea striker seeking to wear the Nerazzurri jersey again.

Tuttosport reported last week that the Blues star has repeatedly called Inter executives and players to tell them he is open to returning to the Stadium Meazza.

The former Manchester United star is having a difficult time at Stamford Bridge, where no game has started since February. He is unhappy at Chelsea and is looking for a return to Inter.

The Nerazzurri need to balance finances and can sell some of their stars in the summer transfer window, but according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, their directors no longer rule out a possible return of their former star.

The report specifies that Inter would only afford Lukaku’s return to a loan deal. As of today, Chelsea can not sign or sell new players due to sanctions against their owner Roman Abramovich. The Blues are in the process of changing ownership, so Inter are waiting to know what will happen at Stamford Bridge before talking to the Premier League giants.

Lukaku scored 64 goals in 95 appearances in all competitions during his two-year period at Inter under Antonio Conte.
