Pochettino’s relationship with PSG towards separation

Mauricio Pochettino’s relationship with Paris Saint-Germain is on the verge of breaking up, according to Goal, the international football news website, which says the Argentine coach is a target for Manchester United.

Pochettino replaced Thomas Tuchel at Princes Park in January 2021, after a year off after being sacked by Tottenham.

During his one year at PSG he led the club to two local titles.

PSG is the leader of the table in Ligue 1 in the first full season of the Argentine on the bench, with 16 points lead over second place Marseille.

But his place on the PSG bench is shaking due to the fluctuating performances of his team.

PSG suffered a shock elimination from the French Cup after being beaten by Nice in the top 16 last month.

This has added to the pressure on Pochettino, who is unhappy at the club and could leave at the end of the season.

His relationship with the club’s board and sporting director Leonardo deteriorated after he was denied consent to sack some first-team players last summer.

It is believed that Zinedine Zidane, who has been unemployed since leaving Real Madrid years ago, will replace Pochettino at PSG.
